Blue Jay Junction Graduation Video 1

Season of Change

I know I know.  Two months have gone by and I have written anything.  What can I say, life with two boys and a little lady got very busy.  But it is summer and things should be calmer.  I titled this page a season of change because there are many changes that are about to occur in the Nilson household, the biggest one being that Femi is starting Kindergarten in the Fall.  I can't believe that my baby is going to be starting school so soon.  He is very ready, but I am not.  I don't do too well with change, but I know that it will all work out.  Things will be fine. The other changes are that Adara and Deji will be going to a new place in the fall, and my school is going to change to a 6-8 building so every one is going to get shuffled around.   I will try my hardest to  be up to date as those changes unfold.   Femi had a blast at Blue Jay Junction this year.  I am really sad that Deji wouldn't be able to attend it next year.  I hope that they go back to their old format after this year of trial.   Anyways Mrs. D and her crew did a great job with the BJJ graduation show.  It was a 50s themed showed with song, dance and costumes.  Here are just a few of the pics.
Femi with Mrs. D.  She is so sweet and kind.  I am really going to miss her.
Femi getting ready for the show.  Looking very handsome.
Showing off his great dance moves.  I was a very proud momma watching my baby on stage.  I even thought about enrolling him in a dance class.  I still might.
Getting down with the guitar.  The boy is not shy!

No Monster

Adara has learned the word NO, and loves to say it all the time. Ryan was able to capture such moment.

Adara's Dedication

Well we finally did it. It took a bit longer, but we did dedicate Adara to the Lord today. It was nice to family and friends surrounding us as Kim and Craig prayed over us. Paw Paw and grandma surprised by calling us on Saturday and letting us that they are coming for the dedication.

Adara giving Grandma some love.

Deji had some nice cuddle time with Grandma as well. First playing this little piggy with her and then

having her read a wonderful story to him.

Sitting between her two favorite ladies.

Saying goodnite after a great evening.

Giving her BFF Jada a hug after getting dedicated.

Sitting with her uncle Dayo and wearing the beautiful cross necklace aunty Jenny got her.

Little Woman

She really is growing too fast. She can say about ten words now.
1. Mama
2. Daddy
3. Woof Woof Doggie (is that 3?)
4. That (said that today when she was telling Naiya that she wanted candy)
5. Apple
6. Banana
7. Thank you
8. Please (she mostly signs it)
9. Out
10. Ozzie
11. Naiya
Before I know she will be saying a lot more and know how to actually wear a bra. It is very true when they say the days are long, but the years are short. Cherish every moment!

Pointing and saying that.

Top Chefs

I have my personal chefs in the making. Femi made a chef hat and cookies at BJJ. That inspired him to want to make a dessert at home and I was more than happy to oblige. Of course Deji needed his own chef hat so Ryan made him one. Adara couldn't be left out of the fun so she joined in as well.

Posing before starting to bake.

Femi really surprised me by doing a great job cracking the eggs. He didn't get any shells in the batter.

Team work with the mixing

Adara trying to help.

Teamwork in putting the batter in the oven

Baked, decorated and ready to enjoy. Just waiting for daddy to come back with some ice-cream.

Enjoying the fruits of their labor.

Really enjoying his!

Yum yum!

Brothers

I love the fact that the boys truly love each other. They share with each other, they play with each other and they fight with each other. I have noticed how much Deji loves being around Femi and how much Femi looks out for Deji. The other day the boys were playing and I heard Femi reading to Deji and asking him questions. Another time they were both huddled in front of the space heat deep into a a conversation I couldn't understand. I pray that their bond continues to grow and it extends to their little sister.
